Snowed In with a Bigfoot, a Yeti, & a Werewolf

by Honey Cummings

Wilma hugged the blanket around her, the wind howled overhead warning her this was her so-called luck unraveling her life once more. The snowstorm was warning it was about to let loose once more. There would be no leaving the lodge any time soon let alone making it to the ski lodge. Snow fell heavier all around them, though the cold seemed to do nothing as they all took in their situation. Wilma blinked herself back to the present. All around a crowd pounded on the glass, whistling and hollering as Mille stood before her with glasses steamed up from the temperature change. Close behind her was a sturdy, curvy girl with blue streaks in her long, straight hair.

“Wait a minute, miss! You can’t just waltz out here! I don’t need you ending up as the talk of the town on the BOOT-Town Uncensored group chat!” She stumbled to a stop as she finally looked at the crowd of naked men. “Boone? Is that you? I thought you quit?”

“Quit,” Tenzin chirped, his icy blue gaze fiery as it landed on the human-form bigfoot. “You told me they kicked you out.”

“Retired,” corrected Boone, heaving a sigh. “Skye Lynne Bailey. Been awhile, hasn’t it? Hope the cowboy romances are coming along.”

“I’ve missed you, you big oaf!” Skye rushed forward, hugging Boone unbothered by the nudeness he and his companions found themselves in. “I could have arranged the mating event for you. But why in the world is Tenzin and Lucan out here with you?”

“About that…” Boone scratched his beard, furrowing his brow. “Exactly how did everyone find out we were … out here?”

“Well, a notice went out that one was unfolding today. I was a little surprised to find the lodge unlocked and you were already hopping on the stump in the mating grounds.” Skye furrowed her brow. “I thought it strange, but there you all were and the crowd was definitely in favor of a show. We’ve all been snowed in for so long…”

“A message?” Boone looked to Lucan and Tenzin who shook their heads. “It wasn’t us, so who could have known.”

“Well, it came from this number.” Skye pulled up the group text and clicked on the main sender.

Wilma squinted at the screen, curious what asshole would have blasted her private sex life across what seemed to be hundreds of cheering fans. Mille finished cleaning her steamed up glasses and gasped when she took a look. She looked at Wilma, stifling a laugh as she recognized the digits.

“Isn’t that Granny Anderson’s number,” announced Mille. “I’m pretty sure that’s the number I called to get a hold of her to find you.”

Wilma’s gut dropped. She paled as the digits looked horrifically familiar. Of all the people who were meddling in her life, indeed that was granny’s phone number. How? How could the ice cream queen sitting at the ski lodge know they were fulfilling her prophetic foursome?

What the fuck is happening? Did she plan this too? And I’m still not sure if it's me or Tenzin being punished for denying her ice cream!

“Ugh, that mountain witch is going to be the death of me.” Tenzin covered his face, stepping closer to hug Wilma into him. “We’ll confront her when we get to the ski lodge.”

“We will indeed.” Boone sidled over and sandwiched her between them, the warmth causing the cold shakes she hadn’t noticed to slow to a stop.

Mille's face changed. Eyes bouncing between the three towering men around Wilma. Her eyes scanned from top to bottom to back to you know where. Her grin curving ever more alongside the size of her eyeballs as she took in all three. All three she had just seen her friend fuck in front of a lodge full of spectators like it were some kind of sporting event. When her expression returned to Wilma, she tried to take a step back but she ended up leaning into the wall of flesh called Lucan.

Is she proud of what I just did? Mille… don’t…

“I was going to say I am pissed that you didn’t call me back but…” The wicked grin and sparkle in her eyes were clear. “But you were clearly busy-busy.” She motioned to the stump. “I saw what you’ve been doing,” she leaned in, “And I approve. Good on you, Wilma. About damn time you got over fucking Gary.”

Wilma’s face turned red as she stepped closer to her friend, a harsh whisper filled with panic demanding, “How much did you see?”

“Uh, from the point the tall, dark, and handsome one was kissing you while the redhead was between your thighs.” The chuckle that left her said enough.

“That was the start of it,” hissed Wilma, holding her face. “I’m going to kill my grandmother.”

“WOOF! GRRR!”

The loud bark and growl made everyone jolt and jump.

Wilma grasped her chest, heart racing from the shiver it waved through her. The heat and flush in her body screamed whose bark and growl had invaded the conversation. It was so wolflike, so feral it could only have been one tenacious werewolf who had absolutely no filter for impulse actions for better or worse.

“Lucan!” Wilma, Boone, and Tenzin had all felt the fiend in question, their new bond seeming to connect them all in a far more … sensitive manner as the smell of peaches even hit her nose.

Did they get aroused like I did from that? Oh, this is not–

“Oh shit!” Mille’s alarm brought Wilma’s attention forward again.

Skye had locked up. Eyes rolled back. Her body stiff like rigor mortis had taken hold in a flash. Then she tilted. Horror filled Wilma. Skye’s fall seemed to be happening in slow motion as panic swelled in every part of Wilma’s body. Mille pivoted but it was too late. Skye landed (luckily) in the snow at their feet.

“I'm a first responder, step back.” Mille jumped into action checking her pulse and assessing her state, rolling Skye onto her back.

Lucan sashayed around the group, leaning on his knees to look at Skye with a prideful grin on his face for the final outcome of his actions. “Ha. Love it when she does that!”

“Lucan!” Wilma looked at him in disbelief.

Those golden eyes blinked, confused by her expression. “She’s a goat shifter,” he offered as if that explained why his actions were perfectly normal.

Mille looked at him confused. “A what?”

“Lucan, human in the room.” Tenzin leaned into Wilma’s ear, whispering, “He likes torturing possum and goat shifters because they lock up as a defense mechanism. In short, play dead but forcibly so when startled.”

“You’re a dick,” blurted Wilma, making Lucan whimper. “How long will she be stuck like this?”

“Give her five minutes. She’ll come to, and beat his ass again for it.” Boone crouched next to Mille who was confused as he stopped her before she could start doing chest compressions. “The pulse will take very sensitive equipment to detect.” He offered before picking Skye up in his big arms. “Let’s take her with us.”

A spark of jealousy hit Wilma and she flinched. It surprised her. All these years even when dating Gary, she had never had a sense of jealousy hit her. Even when the younger Wilma showed up, it was more hurt, depression, and anger than a… greedy thought. He was helping someone, but she couldn’t shake the thought that had surfaced.

Those are my arms.

As if catching it, Tenzin chuckled and twirled a strand of her hair in a finger. “But you have me to carry you, remember my little snowflake? You picked me to do that for you, did you not, my queen.”

She watched as Boone took a few steps toward the door. Every step that striking pain, stabbing and stinging in her chest, her heart. Never had she found herself fully in … love? Was this love?

Am I jealous because I’m in love with him? With Boone? With… She looked at Lucan then Tenzin, imagining if they had picked up Skye and couldn’t shake she would have also felt stabbed in the heart over it. Oh no. I’m in love with all three of them. Her hand touched her forehead, then her neck, then her still throbbing ass cheek. They had marked her, claimed her, but what about her? Was there a means for her to claim them? Was there rules to being bonded, fated mates–whatever the fuck this is–to tie the knot the other way around?

“Wait, we have to do the victory lap or they’ll know we didn’t plan on doing this and then we will be on BOOT-Town Uncensored.” Boone spun back to face her, concern written on his face.

“A what?” Wilma pulled the covers tighter around her.

“I’m game for victory lap.” Shrugged Lucan.

“Through that crowd? Really?” Wilma dared to gawk at the aquarium of people, the numbers seeming double from when she first got a good look at them. “I don’t think I can–”

Tenzin was faster than her words. He scooped her up into his arms with such ease it made her heart skip a beat. She yelped as he jerked the blanket and her world went dark. She was in a cocoon, warm and held tight. The crowd muffled and the sound of his heart thumping a little faster than she expected. She wiggled and he tightened to make her sit still. A giggle escaped her, it seemed so childish considering the circumstances.

“Plug your ears. They’ll be cheering and slurring a lot of unsavory compliments that may leave your ears burning.” Tenzin mused, “Or not and take it all in.”

“Thank you.” Wilma sighed, settling into his arms. “Wait. What about Mille?”

“She’s not naked.” Tenzin snorted. “And not my queen, so why do I care?”

“Tenzin,” she warned. “What if she sees someone not in their human form? I mean… wait, weren’t you… hold on.” Wilma’s brain train derailed and the compartments were buckling into one another.

Why did Mille not notice? Is she… could she be one of them?

“It’s a charm,” whispered Tenzin. “Did you not notice the magic in her scent?”

“No,” blurted Wilma from the soft, smothering darkness. “I’m a human. Smelling people is not a strong suit.”

Tenzin chuckled, the sound of it rolling through her and her body flushed. “Get ready.”

The crowd was loud as the door opened. Wilma squeezed her eyes tight, too curious to plug her ears as they marched around the donut shaped lounge that had a front row view of their foursome on an ancient stump minutes before. Whistles and the sound of people clapping Tenzin’s shoulder and gods knows where else. A few times he rocked her hard left or right, even up at one point. She knew full-well he was keeping anyone from touching her, from touching what he would surely think as his. Wilma swallowed, knowing she now had the same instinct. It wasn’t an informed reaction. There was something more raw and feral to the sensation and she could only imagine it was more intense for the monsters making up her lovers.

“The Snow King! You showed that mutt…” the stranger’s words were muffled by the next.

“Elder Boone! About time you settle down! That marking is one for the…”

“Lucan! Is that an alpha mark on her neck? Dude! What the fuck!”

What the fuck indeed! Wilma agreed with a bitter thought.

“Did I see the snowflake on her forehead? Is she the rani as well?”

She waited, straining to see if Tenzin would confirm. Instead, the steps picked up speed.

“The prophecy has come! The queen crowned thrice has come at last!”

Gripping the covers, those words struck hard and deep.

Did they know about this?

“Huzzah! The Queen of Three has arrived!”

“Tenzin,” she hissed inside her cocoon.

“I know,” he replied. “If I had known about Boone being an elder and fucking Lucan being the lost alpha king, I would have warned you.”

“Warned me,” she squeaked. “That I was some cryptid prophetic royalty queen in the fucking making?”

He stifled a laugh as he tilted her hard right and up once more, making her yelp. “Well, literally making by fucking, I suppose.”

Another door opened and closed, the crowd growing quiet. Tenzin shifted her in his arms until he pulled the cover open to see her face. He smirked, those icy blue eyes aglow as she glared at him. She was pissed. Pouting, arms crossed and face red with rage.

“I think I fall in love with you more and more every time you give me that look.” He flashed a toothy smile.

“The fuck you do,” she quipped. “You all have some explaining to do.”

“Well, Boone might have had an inkling, but considering his reaction to Lucan’s mark says it wasn’t in the forefront of possibilities until it was too late.” He rolled her in a way to kiss her forehead. “Let’s take a shower, there’s time to talk while we wait out the storm.”

Is this what bad luck is like? I mean, I went from maybe being fired to someone doing a hostile takeover and closing my workplace. No income, no way to pay rent. My grandmother clearly punishing … someone in this group. Not sure if it's me or Tenzin. Boone has my ass throbbing. Lucan. Fucking Lucan. Scaring a woman half to death, or fake death? Why is this my life? Why is this where I am being wrapped in a blanket carried by a yeti to a public shower after my first orgy? Fuck my life.
