Snowed In with a Bigfoot, a Yeti, & a Werewolf

by Honey Cummings

Wilma had tried to march her way through the snow and underbrush, but when she tripped for the third time, it was clear a fight would unfold between the three monsters on who got to catch her next. Catching her balance, she huffed leaning on a tree. It was still cold enough during the day for her breath to linger before a chilly breeze swept it away. A snow clump fell from a branch above her, thudding at her feet. They all flinched as it startled her. The intense focus on her sent a shiver up her spine. A mixture of fear and excitement filled her.

Never in my life… Shaking her head, she rearranged the thought. All my life I’ve wanted just one, just one man to pay attention and dote over me like this. And now I have three of them. I don’t even know what to do with it all. Enjoy it? Well, definitely about to do that much once we get to the mating grounds. But first, I have to make it there…

She gave up.

The last thing she wanted was to have one of those snow clumps land on top of her, let alone, bust her ass trying to guess where steady ground might exist under the snow. Considering Tenzin seemed to carry her with ease and didn’t exactly lay any moves on her when doing so, she turned to him, their eyes meeting. Her face went red as she motioned with arms outreached and hands up at Tenzin. He was so tall in his yeti form she almost felt childlike, a toddler begging to be picked up. When nothing happened, she wiggled her fingers and rolled to her tippy toes. Confusion filled his expression. Panic rolled into a knot in her chest.

No, it can’t be.

“She wants uppies, Tenzin.” Boone snort-giggled at the clueless expression on Tenzin’s face. “You do know what uppies is, right?”

Tenzin’s brow rose and after a long, awkward pause finally pulled Wilma back into his arms. “Isn’t this the thing your short girlfriend used to do and say?” It was more of a stab, a weak attempt to mask he hadn’t a clue what Wilma had implied with her arms up.

What man doesn’t know uppies? Wilma covered her mouth, afraid her thoughts would slip out. Granted, when you're rich, who even needs uppies at all.

“You mean Amanda?” Boone scoffed. “She had a name, and a very important title, Tenzin. You hated that she had zero interest in you despite your own title.”

“Can we not go there?” Tenzin groaned as he shuffled Wilma in his arms and pulled the blanket from his shoulder to cover her.

Tenzin wasn’t as gentle or efficient as Boone when it came to caregiver actions. He left her to wiggle in his trunklike arms to get herself tucked in. The moment she settled back down, Tenzin started to march forward, giving Boone the cold shoulder. A stern expression filled his yeti-face, and Wilma stifled a laugh.

“I would like to hear where this goes,” remarked Lucan, giggling as he hastened his pace to be closer, ears pricked forward.

“Not another word from you, mutt,” Tenzin replied sternly.

Wilma narrowed her eyes at Tenzin’s hardened expression and decided to be bold. “Well, I want to hear about this … Amanda?”

“Amanda Fasciano.” A whistle left Boone’s pursed lips. “You might know her for her famous Waking Up Dead paranormal thriller series, but we,” Boone wagged a finger between him and Tenzin, “know her as the heiress of the local pride.”

“Pride?” Wilma blinked. “The famous author is … a what?”

“Lioness. The head lioness,” Tenzin answered curtly.

“And you dated her, Boone?” Wilma sounded impressed and Tenzin tensed, jealousy seeping into his body. “Way to go!”

Boone chuckled, scratching his chin. “What a woman.” He whistled again and Tenzin’s hair prickled. “But alas, I lost her.”

“Wait, is that the one that ran off with the, the, what was it?” Lucan looked as if he was having an aneurism at best.

“It was either the sentinel or the vampire, or was it … one of the Greeklings?” Tenzin’s words were meant to slice Boone. “Real shame, Boone. Couldn’t keep her like everything else, huh?”

“Look, if that’s how high-level they had to be to steal her away from me, I take it as a compliment, mister tycoon. Unlike you, I don’t have money or status so it was fun while it lasted and I regret nothing.” Boone remained unphased as he walked ahead. “You’ll need to follow me from this point on, don’t make a wrong turn or the magic will spit you back out to the edge here.”

Everyone fell silent, focusing on the turns and counted steps behind Boone. At one point he threw out an arm, made a complete 180 degree turn and they started down the way they had come. It was hard to say how much time had passed as Wilma fought the sleep pulling at her. Warm, cuddled in a blanket, the thumping of Tenzin’s heart, and sway of the hammock his arms created were starting to take a toll. Blinking, everyone came to a stop in front of a…

“Is that a VFW?” Wilma rubbed her eyes and Tenzin set her onto her feet. “No, maybe a moose lodge?”

“In a way, yes.” Boone stood hands on hips, nodding. “Welcome the B.O.O.T.’s place for moots.”

Wilma snort-giggled at his words until he cast a serious gaze over his shoulder. “Oh no, you’re serious about this.”

“Well, he was the head B.O.O.T., er, well, the Bigfoot Oversight and Ordinance Tribunal,” Lucan offered. “Though I didn’t really care for their ruling on that bar fight a few years ago.”

“Lucan, the moon made me do it is not a reason to wolf-out on a bar full of humans.” Boone sounded exasperated. “For the last time, they didn't recognize as part of the issue because the moon wasn’t even full phase for another week.”

“Oh, so this is like the police for monsters then?” Wilma walked closer to Boone, curious to discover this new world that had existed in parallel to her own this whole time.

“In this area, yes.” Tenzin walked pass them towards the door. “Do you even have a key to get in while they’re closed like this? You know, after all, you were tossed out of B.O.O.T.”

Boone grimaced and the expression made Wilma’s heart ache.

“At least the bootmen and black boots aren’t here today.” Lucan sniffed the air, his nose twitching. “There’s some forest shifters and campers close by, but it’s clear.”

The bigfoot turned to meet her gaze. “Are you sure you want to do this, Wilma.”

“I’m still not sure how all four of us are going to be able to hook up at the–” He made a face and she realized he was meaning what happened afterwards. “Oh. Right. The marks.” She cupped her neck and glanced over to Lucan. “I already have a fucking snowflake on my forehead. Is it the same way, humans can’t see them?”

Boone nodded. “Human’s can’t see them. And even when hidden, the rest of us can smell you’ve been marked. Granted, you may find your situation … strange having three marks.”

“What he means to say, anyone not human will cater to your every need with my connection alone and grant you passage with Lucan and Boone’s marks in place. No one will bring harm to you ever again.” Tenzin spoke the last line like a promise, steady and stern as if to temper the steel words upon her soul.

“In short, I’ll be figuring out who in my life wasn’t human to begin with,” she drawled unamused. “I don’t see how that’s going to make any difference now that I’m jobless.” Her gaze seared its way into the back of Tenzin's yeti-skull. “And not to mention where the fuck I’ll be living.”

Tenzin spun around, a smirk on his face most wicked. “And I said you’ll never have to think about an income ever again, did I not?”

Scoffing, she hooked an arm around Boone’s own. “Come on, Boone. Let’s do this.”

“If you say so, Ladybug,” cooed Boone.

Together they sashayed past Tenzin who stifled a laugh.

Despite looking like a moose lodge, it was nice from just the outside. Boone flipped open a panel and pressed his thumb on a scanner. It was rather high tech considering they were in a national forest from what she recalled on her GPS and didn’t think a cryptid would care about needed security for a magically hidden building. The door unlocked and he pushed it open, ushering them all inside. Stepping into the building, Wilma found herself impressed. The building hall wrapped around an outdoor courtyard like a donut hole. Bar stations were placed at four corners and hightops circled the glass wall that peer into the center where snowflakes fluttered down. In the center of the courtyard was the largest cut off stump she had ever seen. In fact, it had to be bigger than most cars she ever rode in.

She stood at the window, her breath fogging the window ever slightly as she took it in. Something about it made her heart race, her body hot. Blinking out of her stupor, she pulled the hat off, sweat trickling down her temple. Without hesitation, she yoked her sweater over her head. Hot. Sweltering hot. She would have thought the building was warm, after all, she had been in the snow for what seemed like hours today. But the arousal. Uncanny, her body searing with the roar of desire. She didn’t dare glance back at anyone in fear they would know.

But the smell, the peaches…

Inhaling deeply, she could smell it. Peachy and sugary, her mouth watering.

Is this… is this what has been happening to them?

Fanning herself, she panted and squirmed. It took every drop of willpower not to strip down and run out into the cold naked and sprawl out on the tree trunk like sunbather at Playalinda Beach, Florida (you know if you know!). Sure, she had felt worked up when hooking up with the three of them, but this? These instincts were demanding she spread eagle and let them ram her till she passed out level of desire. Her cobbler needed cobblering.

“Well, that’s unexpected.” Tenzin's voice sent chills up her spine and her shoulders shuttered. “I didn’t think humans went into heat.”

Fanning herself, she didn’t dare look back. “Heat is an understatement. I’m on fire!”

“Well, they say fated mates react to the sacred mating grounds.” Boone sighed. “And I didn’t think the old stories were true, otherwise I would have–”

“By the moon, she needs someone to fuck her now.” The thud of luggage hitting the ground at last brought Wilma to turn and lock with those golden eyes. “And moonshine, please don’t you dare say pineapple pizza and ruin this for us.”

“Us?” She glanced at all of them. “Don’t you mean me?”

“Us.” Lucan pointed to all four of them. “Now get naked and let’s go fuck on that log.”

“What?” Wilma’s body throbbed just thinking about the kitchen table again. “The log?” She turned, looking at the snow covered stomp. “We have to do it out there?”

“That’s why we brought a blanket,” mused Tenzin heading for the singular door that led into the courtyard. “Welcome to the mating grounds. It seems you’ll be taking advantage of all it has to offer.”

“Like what?” She tugged at the hem of her shirt, fighting the want to pull every stitch of clothing off as she kicked off her shoes. “This so-called heat is going to make me faint.”

“I doubt that, Ladybug.” There was an excitement in Boone’s eyes she hadn’t seen before. “I promise, it’s a natural response. Just, not exactly human.”

“Am I not human?” Her voice squeaked, brow furrowing.

“You are very much human.” Lucan laughed. “You smell and taste human. Otherwise I would have said something, moonshine.” He licked his lips. “So who gets to go first? You know, the romp and stump.”

“Lucan,” admonished Tenzin, opening the door. “Behave.”

Wilam’s heart raced, her blood hot, her body trembling with the weight of her arousal. Her bare feet on the floor made her feel … connected. Boone was close, she hadn’t noticed him approaching. His hands cupped her waist as he lowered his gaze to her own. Another shiver, the smell of him powerful, his hands against her made her body beg for them to go elsewhere, to the places surely to produce that one and only erogenous moan she wanted to so badly let out.

“You can back out now,” he offered.

“No.” Wilma shook her head. “I really want this more than anything.”

“Ok, what do you want?” Boone demanded.

Wilma opened her mouth to speak, but he kissed her. She moaned into him as he lifted her. The gentle bigfoot carrying her to where the cool air did nothing to calm the burning heat of desire. She frantically wiggled off her leggings and shirt, not a care in the world where they had landed. The icy stomp hit her bare skin and she yelped.

I’m so glad it's snowing or I just might catch fire at this rate…
