Snowed In with a Bigfoot, a Yeti, & a Werewolf

by Honey Cummings

The door slammed shut. Tenzin’s eyes cut deep before Wilma shook from her thoughts and snapped her hand off her forehead and into her lap. Then he laughed. Pinched his nose, shaking his head while he laughed in such a way it melted her alarm and panic faster than any words could have done. Tenzin sighed after a while before that icy blue gaze returned to Wilma’s own. She pursed her lips, unsure what to say. Boone rubbed her back, the action bringing further calm over her.

“What makes you think hiding that from me makes whatever mischief you’re up to seem harmless?” He crossed his arms waiting for an answer.

“Well…” Wilma searched the air for answers before she settled on the more urgent matter. “What makes you think I want to be your, your queen,” she retorted.

Tenzin shot a look at Boone who grunted.

“Lucan told me,” deflected Wilma in Boone’s defense. “So tell me when you planned on telling me what this fucking snowflake on my forehead means?”

“You should be honored, I didn't give that to you lightly, Ms. Hart.” Tenzin took one step after another slowly towards the couch like an approaching predator. “You see, competence is a rare quality and after looking into the matter, I realized how foolish your previous employer truly was.”

“Why do you make this sound like a job proposal and not a case of you making me some kind of yeti royalty?” Wilma frowned, brow furrowing as she watched the smirk growing on his face. “What do you know about my previous employer?”

Tenzin arched a brow as he stopped midway to the couch. “Well, I bought them out yesterday.”

“You what?” Wilma blinked. “Why?”

“Then closed the doors permanently this morning,” he added nonchalantly.

“What the actual fuck!” Wilma rose to her feet and ignored how Tenzin’s eyes dipped over her. “Who died and made you king,” she roared, furious over the announcement.

“The same king that made you his queen,” he teased.

Holding her head, Wilma’s eyes bugged out of her skull. “Tenzin! That was my work, my career, my fucking income–”

“They had you on the chopping block, Wilma.” His words cut deep, confirmation of the fear that had been haunting her for days, hell, two weeks now.

“So you punished them?” Wilma tried to move forward, past the stinging in her throat and tears wavering in her eyes. “Why wouldn’t you ask me, fuck, talk to me first before you–”

“One mistake. They were cutting you for one mistake.” Tenzin closed the gap, pulling her arms off her face before lifting her gaze to his own with a finger under her chin. “You have worked for them for twelve years. And in that time, you managed to secure millions of dollars, worked the most reported overtime, and worse, not one fucking offer for promotion.” He kissed her forehead, his mark and crown he had given her carrying more weight than he could ever hope one to have by his side. “How does it feel to be seen, my snowflake.”

Tears were falling and she couldn’t stop them. She stared up at this stranger, this yeti in man form, this amazing lover she had only just tasted the day before, and no words could stay long enough for her to speak them out loud. Her body shook. Her mind rewinding time, those gods-awful nights where everyone went to the bar to celebrate while she finished out closing the job, securing documents, and simply making sure it was all recorded. Time wasted having to do her boss and underlings jobs because the blame would fall back on her.

Shit! I mean, both my supervisor and the boss reviewed that proposal before that meeting so why was I the only one on the chopping block! Assholes! Now we are all jobless, motherfuckers!

A strange sense of pride and amusement filled her. It didn’t slow the tears but she fought the smile back. It wasn’t good timing. She was challenging the alpha-hole Tenzin, and heaven forbid he thinks doing something so rash was remotely ok with her. Her life was … gone. With no job, she couldn’t afford her downtown apartment she barely managed to pay rent on in the first place. For fucksake, she had to completely start over when she got back.

Do I even want to go back?

“You don’t have to work another day unless you want to.” Tenzin pulled her into him, the minty musk of him filling her senses. “I see you, Wilma Hart. This fated bond wasn’t the reason I chose you, but it wouldn't allow me the time to get to know you. So I did what I do best and researched, put my best subordinates on the matter, and what I saw made me … angry. And then, I was angry because you weren’t angry. Just hearing you there in the grotto I … had to do something to make sure they could never harm you again.”

“I don’t understand?” She whimpered, clinging onto his coat. “Why? Why do this?”

“Don’t be mistaken.” He pulled her back, cupping her face as he thumbed a tear off her cheek. “I’m selfish. Hearing you talk as if you would leave us for that sham pissed me off.”

She laughed, the jealousy in his words ridiculous to go so far as to take out her ex-employer.

Now if I can get him to take out my ex-fiance…

“So what will you do now, Ladybug?” Boone’s words made her twist to meet his curious hazel eyes. “Are you staying?”

“Honestly, I guess move in with granny?” Wilma marveled. “I can’t afford my apartment anymore.”

Tenzin grunted. “Did I not say you had here, the grotto, hell, a private room at the ski lodge would suffice.”

“You don’t get to choose for me,” she spat, equally touched and annoyed. “If you think taking away my income will stop me from not settling for you, you're an arrogant asshole.”

“He is an arrogant asshole,” grumbled Boone.

She pointed at Boone. “Be honest! You knew he was doing this and didn’t stop him or tell me.”

“Ladybug was getting lucky in all walks of life.” Boone shrugged. “Why would I stop endless income, a safe place to live, and always within my reach?”

“What income?” Wilma scoffed.

“My income,” answered Tenzin.

“I’m not taking your money!” She broke away from them both, flailing her arms around. “I still don’t understand what the hell is happening to me, to you, to this fucking glitter tattoo on my forehead!”

“We should go to the ski lodge,” Boone announced standing up. “Being around some … normalcy might help her calm down.”

“Yes! Take me to the ski lodge!” She latched onto the idea. “Take me to my grandmother!”

Tenzin pulled a hand down his face and groaned. “But the mark…”

Boone laughed. “Just put a hat on her. It’s cold enough to be wearing one.”

Tenzin nodded, taking in the suggestion. “That could work.”

“Are you going to carry her? Or am I?” Boone asked as they both looked at Wilma.

“Wait, what?” Wilma’s cheeks heated.

“Which one of us will be carrying you through the snow to the ski lodge, Ms. Hart?” Tenzin made it sound like a business proposal, or perhaps for her sake, had swallowed down his jealousy. “The road won’t be fully accessible here for another day or so. Unless, you want to stay here until–”

“Nope.” Wilma threw up a hand and silenced him. “Just, give me a moment to process. I want to go now. Granny owes me answers.”

Tenzin smirked and Wilma tried so hard not to look at that amazing smile. Boone stood and stretched. The ripping of fabric made her twist back to Tenzin who had yeti’ed out of his clothes once again. Then she remembered how warm he had been on that walk. Touching her forehead, she also remembered the very topic he dodged addressing from the start.

She pointed to Tenzin. “You. You’re carrying me because we have a lot to discuss about you making choices for me.”

Tenzin rolled his eyes. “Where’s your sense of romance, Wilma?”

Wilma crossed her arms. “Gone along with my fucking income because of you!”

Tenzin moved faster than she could react, hoisting her into his arms. Boone started to tuck a cover all around her. The two of them are working together for a change all because of her. Once she was cocooned into Tenzin arms, Boone kissed her cheek. A growl rolled from Tenzin, every bit of it screaming territorial warning.

“Get her luggage,” demanded Tenzin.

Boone rolled his eyes before adding, “Yes your lordship.”

Tenzin headed for the door. The weightlessness he made her feel was amazing. She was nothing to him. And something about that made her feel dainty for the first time ever in her life. The other night she had been too panicked to settle in, or perhaps too naked for a walk in the snow. As they stepped out of the cabin, a more sinister growl greeted them. Golden eyes and a very angry werewolf stood on the path to the cabin.

“Where are you taking her?” Lucan eyed her. “Are you ok, moonshine?”

Wilma gave him a deadpan expression. “He’s my ride to the ski lodge.”

Lucan’s features softened, tail wagging. “Oh? We could have so much more fun there!”

Tenzin marched past him. “Stop wasting time, I want to get her close before the sun sets.”

“Here.” Boone shoved Wilma’s luggage into Lucan. “You get to carry her luggage.”

“What?” Lucan was hugging the suitcase that still bore battle wounds from when he fell on it days ago. “I’m not a fucking bellhop! I’m a handyman!”

Boone chuckled, remarking, “So make yourself handy and carry the luggage.”

A groan and whimper escaped Lucan as he fell in line behind them. Wilma tried to shift so she could get a peek over Tenzin’s shoulder, but he shifted, making her fall back into his arms. It was painfully obvious he was keeping her eyes from gawking at anyone but him. Crossing her arms, she glowered at him. The yeti-ish face didn’t bother to glance down in reply.

“If…” She poked a finger into his hardened, white-furred chest. “If I decide to keep this title of queen, what does it mean?”

Tenzin snorted. “Why should I tell you if you aren’t going to stay with me or any of us.”

“Tenzin,” she warned and plucked a tuft of hair off.

“Ouch.” Tenzin stopped in his steps, wide eyed as he stared at her. “That hurts, you know.”

“Oh I know.” She hissed.

“Rani. We call a yeti queen our rani. It’s a traditional title from where we come from.” Tenzin started to walk again. “And a queen for me, means someone who can handle and manage some part of my business assets.”

“Are you … offering me a job?” Wilma rubbed the bald spot on his chest as if to undo the damage.

“I already have given you the job, Ms. Hart.” Tenzin grunted, though like Boone’s own, this one sounded happy or pleased. “But the next part may prove … difficult for us both.”

“And that is?” Wilma arched a brow, marveling over how he stepped over a fallen tree and not once losing balance with her wiggling in his arms. “You better tell me or you’ll have two bald spots on your chest, asshole.”

Tenzin snorted again. “Fine. My intent was to make you my queen so I could get the yeti council off my back, have someone competent to take some of the administration off my shoulders, but I wasn’t expecting…” Tenzin snapped his lips closed.

“Wait, there’s a yeti council?” Wilma pinched her nose, the snowflake feeling as if it could burn a hole through her head with the importance it carried. “Wait, wait. What were you not expecting?”

She could almost swear Tenzin was blushing.

“That he would fall for you,” Boone interjected, marching close behind them.

Tenzin stopped, spinning to face the bigfoot, seething as he hissed, “That’s not for you to say.”

“You weren’t going to say.” Lucan stopped beside Boone, sitting on top of the luggage. “Be honest. None of us expected it. Nor did any of us plan it, right Moonshine?”

“No I didn’t plan it,” she spat as Tenzin let her down so she could stand, hands on hips. “I almost died in the snow! Then Boone saved me.” She heaved a sigh. “And thank you again.”

“Any time Ladybug.” Clearing his throat, Boone turned his attention back to the giant white-haired creature behind her. “Be honest, Tenzin. You left your mark and still can’t control your shifting.”

“What makes you think that?” Tenzin bluffed, his voice coming out strange as the hair across his body prickled.

Boone met Wilma’s gaze. “We can’t go to the ski lodge, not yet.” He motioned to the three of them. “We’re going to have to finish … bonding.”

“Excuse me?” Wilma paled, though her body shivered and heated against her will. “As in, all four of us are about to fuck in this forest? For real?”

Tenzin sighed. “Boone, that means we all have to go to the sacred mating grounds.”

“I know.” Boone’s voice was soft. “I’ll deal with the council afterwards. It’s abnormal circumstances, but we’ll lose our ability to… well I’m having trouble shifting back.”

“Same. I can no longer hide my ears and tail.” Lucan chimed in, leaning on his thighs. “But I’m game for a gang bang! Aren’t you moonshine?”

“No.” Wilma crossed her arms, heat filling her making the cold seem like a blessing as she back up in the snow. “Nope, nope. Yeti council be damned.”

Tenzin chuckled. “Bigfoot council. A very different council, snowflake.”

Her heart was racing, pounding so hard her chest stung. “That means being marked!” She pointed to Lucan, shouting, “And knotting with him again!”

“Hey-hey!” Lucan barked the words, ears flat. “I just won’t stick it all the way in this time!”

Wilma’s eyes bounced between the three of them. Her body buzzing with arousal, her mind imagining how this could possibly unfold with all three, and their nostrils flared. The peach smell didn’t lie. And her cobbler was about to be creamed like nothing before.

“Fine.” She closed her eyes, holding up a hand. “Safe word activated from this point on.”

“Deal,” they replied in unison.

What the hell have I gotten myself into?
