Snowed In with a Bigfoot, a Yeti, & a Werewolf
by Honey Cummings
Wilma had limits.
It’s not that she didn’t want to see what promises Tenzin had whispered about, especially when he pinned her on the table and… her body flushed. Her eyes shot across the steaming, bubbling hot spring where those icy blue irises cut through bright and sharp. He watched her. The same stare she had found both alluring and infuriating. It picked her apart. Not like her ex-fiancé or boss’s stares, but something deeper than she had ever found herself under.
She settled into the alcove’s stone seat. Watching him, she waited, wondering when he would run out of patience and close the gap. Looking up, the small opening in the grotto still showed flurries drifting between her and the stars. It was beautiful, and as hot as the water was, it was nuts to think she had been snowed in (and technically still snowed in) with three very sexy monsters. Leaning back, she let her muscles relax and closed her eyes. Tenzin’s silence weighed heavier than his words, but she knew he hadn’t moved from where he sat.
The water would give him away, surely.
Her mind circled back to her horrible dream and the painful reminders it had brought back to the surface. The ache in her chest was only matched by an unsteady breath. When she went back home, would she have a job? Could she really be able to handle another rendezvous with the other Wilma? Another slow inhale and she held it.
You have bigger problems to resolve first.
She exhaled no longer able to hold it.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Tenzin’s voice carried over the spring with ease.
Eyes still closed, leaning against the alcove lip, she replied, “No thank you.”
“Seemed like a shitty dream,” he pressed.
“Memory,” she corrected.
There was a long silence, and she strained listening for a slosh of water in fear he would come any closer.
“I might have lost my job,” she added hoping it would keep him in his alcove.
“What makes you so sure?” Tenzin’s tone lacked the condescending element it had carried since her arrival. “Why come out here and risk losing your job?”
Heaving a sigh, she relented more information than she had initially wanted to allow. “I’m out here riding out my PTO before they pull the plug.”
“And over what incident?” Tenzin seemed genuinely interested and she peeked one eye open to see he hadn’t stopped staring in her direction. “Come on. It can’t be that bad, it takes a lot these days to instantly fire someone.”
“I underbid a multimillion-dollar project by 70% for the first time in my ten or so years there.” She covered her face. “They were arguing whether they should let me go on the spot, Tenzin. Put me on a probation for a week with no pay. So, I put in all my PTO to hold off the inevitable.” Groaning in frustration she added, “I’m so fucked!”
After her voice echoed through the cave, Tenzin pressed for more information. “What do you do for work?”
“General contract bids for corporate buildings.” She glared at Tenzin.
“Impressive.” He purred the word and it annoyed her immensely.
“Did you not register I’m fired when I get back?” Her frown deepened as the corner of his lips kicked up. “What’s so funny?”
“Just seems strange that you think your fired over one mistake in a decade of being there.”
The chuckle rolled from him was deep and she pressed her thighs together tighter as if in need to barricade her fortress. His eyes dipped over her and she stiffened. It was as if he knew, could sense the arousal every time. Furrowing her brow, she bit her bottom lip. Heart fluttering as her fists balled at her sides under the water. Glaring at him, she wondered if he would be anything like Boone if she pressed the questions on him. Exactly how much would Tenzin divulge now that they were alone in his little safe haven, er, steamy grotto palace?
“Why do you look at me like that?” Swallowing, part of her wasn’t sure if she would like the answer soon to follow.
Those icy eyes narrowed. “You really have no idea, do you?”
“I guess not,” she spat bitterly.
He pushed out into the middle of the spring. Wilma stood in alarm pulling herself up into the alcove at the statues’ feet. Pausing, he laughed at her knee-jerk reaction.
“I won’t bite … too hard,” he jested, daring to swim closer nearing her alcove slowly.
“You go back over there,” she shouted pointing at where he left. “I mean it!”
“Or what?” The words hit hard as he stopped at the edge of the underwater seat. “I wanted to show you something.”
Wilma wiggled herself behind the statues, hissing, “Go back! You’ve been showing me plenty since I arrived at your godforsaken cabin, Tenzin!”
A grumbling sound rolled from him. “I love it when you shout my name like that, snowflake.”
“If this is your idea of flirting,” she seethed, “you should know it sucks.”
“Look, seriously, I wanted to show you—”
I WAS MADE FOR LOVIN’ YOU—
The sound of a telephone ringing to the tune of I Was Made For Lovin’ You by YUNGBLUD interjected, and she looked to a table beside the hot springs. Tenzin dragged a hand over his face. As his eyes peaked over the top of his hand, he locked eyes with Wilma. She flinched, shrinking behind the statue.
“Don’t you dare go anywhere,” he threatened before swimming in full stride back to the steps.
Wilma watched from behind her half-naked stone protectors as they embraced one another. The way the wet white locks hung down his dark-skinned back sent that salacious sensation waving through her. Again, he paused and looked back at her with a most wicked grin. He knew. They all knew. The slightest arousal, warmth at her core to those vicarious thoughts seem to be more than enough to catch their attention. Tenzin was very aware she was losing this battle to her own wanton wants.
“What is it, LeAnn?” Tenzin drawled, water dripping off his body and chin where he kept his eyes on Wilma like a predator watching its next meal. “I’m a little busy.”
“Well, you sent Lucan and Boone here for the generator, so I figured you were still at the cabin.” LeAnne huffed. “What’s the name of that pizza joint?”
“Which pizza joint?” Tenzin pinched his nose.
“The one with the macaroni cheese pizza.” LeAnne sounded as annoyed as he did. “It’s going on your card since I’ve been stuck here running your fucking shift.”
Huffing, Tenzin answered, “Broadway Pizzeria.”
“That’s the one!” LeAnne murmured something before a familiar voice cut in.
“Did you figure out that pizza place, my beautiful she-wolf?” Lucan was looking for another tussle already. “Oh, is that Tenzin?” A growl escaped him. “Where the fuck did you go? We thought we lost you in the storm, jackass!”
Tenzin smirked hanging up the phone. “Good. They’re still at the ski lodge.”
He took two long strides and dove back in, swimming back to Wilma’s alcove. She pressed her back against the stone wall. There was nowhere to go. Heart thumping, trying just as hard to escape.
Can I really handle another round with one of these … monsters? Men? Fuck.
Tenzin surfaced from the water and pulled himself into the seating area. “Are you that afraid of me?” Tenzin snorted, wiping water from his face before pulling his hair over one shoulder.
“No offense,” Wilma squinted her eyes, “I don’t feel like drowning while being fucked by a yeti tonight.”
Tenzin released a loud guffaw, startling her. “Is that what your worried about?”
“Yes. That and if we’re doing this, I demand some place,” Wilma looked all around before meeting his gaze, “Softer.”
Tenzin arched a brow. “Ok, snowflake. I can do that.” He offered his hand.
Wilma stared at his hand as if it were a venomous viper ready to strike. “I don’t trust you.”
“I’m the only one who’s been able to hold back this long.” Tenzin spoke with the utmost confidence. “Though, I can’t promise for how much longer if you keep … catching my attention.” His eyes dipped over her as she stepped out from behind the promiscuous couple who had shielded her. “You feel it, and I smell it like jasmine blooming in the night.”
Swallowing, it was an elegant way for him to deliver what she had been trying to ask. Every flush her body experienced meant they knew. It was embarrassing, horridly raw, and somehow, attractive idea. The way he ate her with his eyes would stop the tangle of emotions and swallow her with desire. She reached for his hand, and he help her ease back into the spring. Wilma watched how his muscles tensed. Tenzin was fighting his nature, the instincts that drove him to whisk her away to be alone and have her all to himself. He was indeed starting to slip, to lose to his—her eyes drifted down and she turned, face red.
“I don’t know why you keep doing that. You can stare,” he teased, tugging her along as the eased into the deeper water and gently swam to the stairs. “It’s not like you haven’t seen it at this rate.”
“Look here,” she grumbled with disapproval. “It’s not normal. Not one, but three very hot men with hard-ons wanting to take you for a ride is abnormal by itself.”
They reached the first step, and he aided her as she continued her rant.
“And let’s now add the weird peach cobbler bullshit. No, no, that’s not even the peak of the ridiculousness!”
He entwined her fingers in his and kissed the top of her palm, grinning as he listened.
“Snowed in with a bigfoot, a yeti, and a werewolf. You’re not even supposed to be real.”
He tugged her behind him, leading her down a side hallway she had overlooked before.
“And that whole knotting thing? What the fuck! I would have liked to know before you stick it in!”
Tenzin stifled a laugh.
“Let’s not forget I’m your punishment for denying my grandmother fucking ice cream!” She held her head with her free hand. “A witch. She’s a witch and I had no idea. You know how many summers I spent out here as a little girl?”
Opening a door, her led her inside a grand bedroom.
“But she thinks I need a four—” Wilma blinked as he let go of her hand and closed the door. “Holy shit.”
This was nothing like minimalist bedroom in the cabin. Here chandeliers and low lighting set a renaissance worthy mood. At the center, a four-poster canopy bed fit for a king and his harem of women. Blinking she looked at the renaissance art on the wall in the round room. A doorway carved in the stone led to what she could see was surely a bathroom. The mahogany wood dressers and desk matched the wood on the bed. It was worthy of a royal bedroom in one of those museum tours she took that time in Europe.
Gods, I was so drunk, but I remember a bedroom so much like this.
“Do you like it?” Tenzin leaned in pulling a wet lock behind her ear.
“Not what I expected after seeing the cabin.” She covered her mouth processing the room still.
“It gets boring if everything is always the same.” Tenzin laughed softly. “I like to be adventurous, much like you.”
She turned to him, the words striking. “What makes you think I’m adventurous?”
He kissed her, lips firm against her own before opening up for her. She lashed out, that minty peach flavor filling her sense. Her skin pimpled as he pulled her against him, his body wet and hot against her own. Breaking it, he searched her face with a smug expression.
“Well, you just followed a very feral yeti to his bedroom, did you not my little snowflake.” The sultry tone made her breath hitch as he caressed her jawline with a finger.
“And if I refuse?” She asked with a dangerous look in her eyes.
“Then I guess I’ll be the one doing the punishing,” his fingers tumbled down her spine, the sensation making her shiver, “Which will it be,” his voice rumbled in her ear.
Oh shit.
